New Palm(tm) Software for LDAR Tag Maintenance
3/15/2001
Recording new fugitive emissions tag information or verifying existing tag data has traditionally meant lots of hand written notes to be keyed into a database, then checked (and rechecked) for accuracy. ORR LEAKDAS users now have the option of skipping the data entry and QA work by tapping and writing tag information directly into handheld computers that use the Palm(tm) operating system. EC Systems has just released a unique new product called LeakDAS Tagger(tm). Tagger(tm) software runs on any Palm device, including those made by Palm, Handspring, or Symbol's SPT-1700 (rated for Class I/Div2 areas). According to Chris Patterson, LDAR Applications Specialist for EC Systems, "This software can easily pay for itself in labor savings from one tagging project. Every field in LEAKDAS is available on the Palm(tm) screen for data entry or editing. After the plant is tagged, it makes tag maintenance a breeze."

According to EC Systems Vice President, John Cermenaro, "LDAR information management is our core business, and the investments we have made this year ensure that we will continue to support the needs of people responsible for fugitive emissions compliance for a long time to come."
